Owner-managed since 1981, Atelier Ek is a traditional company with an experience of more than forty years.

We offer full service:

  • engeneering of amusement trailers and rides
  • manufacturing of enclosed trailers, food trucks and amusement supplies

Atelier Ek (permanent establishment)

1981

In 1981 Bruno Ek was sitting in a small Café in Lippstadt, Germany. He was doing what he loved the most: drawing portraits of friends. He caught the attention of a carny who asked him to draw the ticket booth of his amusement ride.

In the following Bruno Ek received a lot of new orders.

Together with Sylvia Ek he established the company. To this day Sylvia is the woman in charge when it comes to advertising.

 

1985

In the early years various retaurants got handpainted and foiled menus by Atelier Ek. Even the foils had been cut by hand at that time. In the early 1980s Atelier Ek started to paint trailers and cars. It was the 80s – numerous bonnets got varnished with glitter and motives.

 

1992

Word spread about a company doing artisan finishing of surfaces with airbrush. This way Atelier Ek became a well-known institution in the district of Soest, Germany and beyond.

Then the working space got too small because the projects got large. More space was needed.

A solution was found in the industrial estate of Erwitte. In addition to that the first two employees had been hired.

The varnishing had been done at a company nearby because there wasn´t a spray booth yet. It became clear that special requirements could only be fulfilled by planning facilities on one´s own.

 

1998

Said and done: The Ek family set up their very own hangar in order to face any requirements. It was subsequently possible to accept each order. The team of eight is working in its hangar until today.

 

2014

Another expert joined the team: The founders` daughter, Joana Ek, studied design and  brought her experience of the advertising industry.

 

Today

Atelier Ek became an established full service company for amusement devices across Europe.

From the planning of entire concepts to trailer engeneering, design, applications for events and corporate identity belong to the range of services.

Atelier Ek grew constantly and always loved to be challegend. Our motivation is the loving attention to details and to this the very special business of amusement industry.
